About these recitations
Each recording here is a complete recitation of Surah Ya-Sin, the 36th chapter of the Qur'an. Reciters differ in style: the measured Murattal pace suits following along with the text, while the melodic Mujawwad style is slower and more ornamented.
The audio on this page is streamed directly from Quran Foundation, who maintain the recordings and the rights to distribute them. We do not host recitation files ourselves.
Questions about the audio
Can I listen to Surah Yasin for free?
Yes. Every recitation on this page streams free, with no account and no app. The recordings are hosted by Quran Foundation and played here directly from them.
What is the difference between Murattal and Mujawwad?
Murattal is the measured, even style used for everyday reading and for memorising. The pace is steady and the delivery plain. Mujawwad is slower and more ornamented, with longer pauses and more melodic variation, and is the style usually heard at gatherings and on well known recordings. Both follow the same rules of tajweed. They differ in pace and delivery, not in accuracy.
Can I follow the Arabic text while listening?
Yes, but open the text in a second tab. The player lives on this page, so following any link away from it stops the recitation. Open the full text in a new tab and the audio keeps playing here. The verses are not highlighted in time with the recitation, so you keep your own place as you read.
